Dare to go Bare with L'Oréal Paris Collection Privée | Official TIFF Collection | Review, Photos, & Swatches

August 19, 2013

As this year's Summer coming to an end, we can start counting down the days till Toronto International Film Festival, aka TIFF.  Each year, being the official sponsor of the event, L'Oréal Paris would create an exclusive collection for the occasion.  This year is no different.

L'Oréal Paris Collection Privée Nail Polishes: JLo, Eva, Freida, Doutzen
L'Oréal Paris Collection Privée Lipsticks: JLo, Eva, Freida, Doutzen
L'Oréal Paris Collection Privée* consists of 4 sets of lip and nail colour inspired by 4 world renowned actresses - Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto, and Jennifer Lopez (all sold separately; lipsticks are CA $10.99; and nail polishes are CA $3.99).
  • Collection Privée by Doutzen is a combination of sweet and soft pink nude lipstick with a frosted sheen and a french manicure pink nail colour.
  • Collection Privée by Eva is a nude beige lipstick with golden sheen and an oxblood nail polish.
  • Collection Privée by Freida consists of a light parma colour lipstick and a darker parma nail colour.
  • Collection Privée by JLo is a neutral beige lip colour with cream finish and a pale grey nail polish

The lipsticks all smooth, glossy, and non-drying.  Due to its smooth texture, it doesn't really last very long, but I enjoy reapplying it because it feels great on the lips.  My favourite lipstick out of the four is Eva's Nude.  It is the perfect peachy nude and suits well with my skin tone.  JLo's Nude is a close second because it's a simple neutral nude that looks great on a lot of people.  Also, I should mention that the packaging of these lipsticks are quite sophisticated.  The matte black package (much like the NARS packaging) and gold hardware makes them look more luxurious than drugstore lipsticks.

The selection of colour in the nail polishes really hits home for me because they're the perfect for Fall.  I can see myself getting a lot of use out of these colours when Fall comes around.  The formula is smooth and easy to apply.  However, pigmentation varies - Doutzen is the most sheer and Eva is the most pigmented.  I would say with Eva, Freida, and JLo, 2 coats will give you a opaque coverage, whereas you will need 3 coats for Doutzen.  The brush that comes with these Colour Riche nail polishes makes application so much easier because of its large size and rounded tip.

It is so easily to fall in love with this collection because the wearability.  Everyone can find their nude lip colour and fall nail polish in this release.  They're going to be available next month in September 2013.  It will be a great way to glam up your looks with these products for the upcoming TIFF!  I think my favourite set is Eva, what about you?

  4. Ya, it doesn't really look like a J.Lo shade because I thought she would like some more colour for her nails haha. But I've been obsessed about this collection :)
