The lovely people at Debenhams has asked me if I would like to style and accessorise inspired by British style icons using items sold on Debenhams.com. For those of you who are not familiar with Debenhams, it is a UK based retailer that carries products from fashion to beauty, home to electronics. While having over 240 stores in 28 countries, Debenhams is also available online for 70 countries shipping internationally (including North America). Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I have, of course, chosen to use Emma Watson as my style inspiration for this challenge.
While known for her glamourous red carpet looks, Emma Watson is quite "laid-back/relaxed chic" when it comes to her off-duty style. She said in her recent interview with Net-A-Poter's The Edit that her personal wardrobe is much more comfortable (than her red carpet attires) for her everyday style. I absolutely agree with Emma and I, too, usually would go for comfortable clothing when I shop. In this post, I am going to show you how I get warm-and-cozy-Emma-style for this year's Autumn and Winter using a few pieces found on Debenhams.
Emma is always spotted with her chunky scarves in the colder months, so I chose a cream colour circle scarf by Betty Jackson. Black* from the designers at Debenhams collection. Circle scarf is great for the winter not only because it adds coziness to your look when you loop it around, it also saves you from losing one end of the scarf to the blowing wind (been there, done that, the worst is when tousles on the scarf it got stuck on your lipgloss like hair). This one is particular is so warm and soft and I can't wait to snuggle up with it in the even colder months.
The one item that makes the most appearances with Emma is her wayfarer sunglasses. And here I have this red framed one from Marc by Marc Jacobs* (similar: here, here, & here). I am really liking how this pair falls on my face, not every pair fits nicely on me. A lot of people, myself including, seem to underestimate how bright it is in the Winter with all the white fluffy stuff reflecting the light, it could easily damage your eyesight. Emma is probably using it for security reasons, but it's a good idea to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes when it's super bright outside.

Another cold weather staple must be hats, and I have picked out a black wool trilby hat from J range by Jaspar Conran*. Emma likes to wear different types of black hats, it only makes sense because it keeps her stylish, warm, and somewhat private. The one I've got is 100% wool so it'll keep your head warm enough for the transitional weather between Autumn and Winter.

All three accessories featured in this post together costs less than £100 (about US $160 or CA $165) and they are all from the designers at Debenhams collection. The selection at Debehams was wonderful. It has a great variety of style at different price points. There is definitely something for everybody.
Which outfit was your favourite? I'd love to know.
Until next time,
