Smashbox Fall 2013 Product Launch | Beauty News

October 8, 2013

Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control (CA $50) is like their original, or rather the oil-free, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer but also treats breakouts.  It contains 2% salicylic acid to combat blemishes and it is also oil-free.  It claims to provide clearer skin in just 2 weeks while instantly create a smooth canvas for makeup.  I'm an oily skin gal and recently my face is not happy.  I think I need to look into this.

Liquid Halo HD Foundation with SPF 15 (CA $48) is a gel foundation that contains pigments to "mimic photo filters to blur imperfections".  Available in 10 shades, it is said to be a high coverage foundation but it looks natural on the skin and provide a natural glow, hence Halo.   I'm all for natural looking foundation and if it has enough coverage for my current broken out skin, bring it on.

The Fade to Black Collection is a limited edition of "pitch-perfect neutrals—all in polished metallic packaging with an ultra-luxe, violet-to-black gradient".  It includes:

  • Fade to Black Eye Shadow Palette (CA $52): Two neutral to smokey palette that contains all necessary shades you'll need to take from day to night for this Fall.  I like that it contains matte shade, which is what I usually prefer for the Fall season.
  • Fade to Black Waterproof Shadow Liner (CA $25): Comes in two shades: Blackest Black, Black Gold.  It is made for those smokey looks.  The smudging sponge helps you to get fade to black with ease.
  • Fade to Black Be Legendary Lipstick (CA $22): Two must-have shades for Fall: Nude and Berry, that flatters most skin tone.

New Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner (CA $23) is a self-sharpened eyeliner that looks like new every time you twist the cap off.  No need to worry about bringing your sharpener to your trip because it does it for you.  This range has 8 shades of smooth kohl liner that are also waterproof.  Smashbox says it is safe to use on the waterline and tightline, which are my favourite way to use kohl liners.

Until next time,

x Rica

  1. ! that primer does look worthy of a gander. having the salicylic acid there would totally help with breakouts! might have to pop into sephora for sample.
