When everyone has the same skirt, what do you do to add your personal twist to it? This conversation came up a little while ago soon after the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection was launched. Maria from Beauty and a Bite (@MariaAguilar), whom I had the pleasure to meet, saw that I was wearing the Animal Print Skirt and told me that she had the same skirt. We bonded over our same camera and same skirt, and we start chatting how everyone in the fashion world is styling similarly, especially when it's paired with the pieces from the same collection. So we thought to take the challenge and showcase how we would wear it and make it our own.
Jacket: Superdry Japan (similar here, here & here) || Cardigan: Dynamite (similar) || Scarf: Betty Jackson. Black at Debenhams || Tank: Uniqlo || Skirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target || Shoes: ZARA || Necklace: House of Harlow 1960
Comfort is a key to my personal wardrobe. This new Dynamite cardigan is one of my current favourite because it's so cozy and warm. Since the cardigan and skirt already has so much going on, I styled it with a plain tank from Uniqlo. I added a circle scarf from Debehmans that I had featured before, as well as a starburst necklace from House of Harlow 1960 to add some elements to the simple top. I also wore this pair of ZARA laced up wedges from a few seasons ago. It was so cold outside when I wore this out so I have to wear my Superdry Parka (Winter 1-Rica 0).
As for Maria, she obviously does her own thing. I love how simple but put together her outfit is. I'm taking notes! I will need to add a statement necklace on my shopping list. Take a look at this sneak peek of her outfit and check out her site!
It's all about being comfortable in my skin and style. How about you? Do you have the same piece? How would you style it to make it unique? Let me know because I would love to learn from tips from you too!
Until next time,
