Every year around this time of year, Sephora will have a Friends & Family Event followed by a Beauty Insider Sale.  In fact, the F&F sale has already begun on October 17, 2013 and it's running till the 30th.

If you're one of the luckier ones who have friends or family working at Sephora, you might want to take advantage of the 20% off discount to stock up some of your essential products.  (To get the F&F discount you actually need to know someone who work there and provide you with a code, so ask around to see if someone you know has it.)

If you don't know anyone, fear not, the Beauty Insider should be coming up soon if they follow what they did before.  Last year it was a 15% off discount, which is great considering things that are sold at Sephora rarely go on sale.

I usually stock up on skincare products that I used before and liked, get some beauty products that I've eyeing on, and buy some holiday gifts in advance because a lot of them have already come out!  Here's some idea to get you started...

Do you dare to wear blue?  I do.  In fact one of my favourite ways to wear blue eyeshadow is a blue smoky eyes.  So when Revlon asked if I would like to take on their "Dare to Wear Blue" challenge, I immediately know I want to get some inspiration from my go-to blue eyeshadow look!

I grew up watching Japanese anime and always have a soft spot for Majokko (魔女っ子) Princesses characters (basically princesses or witches with magical power).  I'm sure a lot of us have that in common wanting to be Sailor Moon or Card Captor Sakura when we're little.  Majokko is a cultural phenomenon for decades and it's very popular in many age groups (let's not talk about otaku though).

This holiday season, renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has teamed up with Shu Uemura to create the 6 ♥ Princess Holiday Collection
based on his upcoming animation series "6 ♥ Princess".  Whether you like anime or makeup, or both, your jaws will completely dropped for this collection.  It is uber super duper cute!  Oh, and this collection is already available online!

When October rolls around, we all know the snowy winter scene is not far from sight.  Inspired by the "satin radiance of snowflakes, the crystalline glitter of frost - Lancôme adorns women in enchanted light".  For this year's holiday collection, Lancôme is releasing a range of holiday essential shades include shades of iridescent white and silvery grey, and, of course, red.  And to top it off, some comes with extra sparkly packaging.

Hypnôse Star Étincelle Mascara (CA $33) is probably the star product for me in this collection, pun intended.  One of the best selling mascaras in their range comes in a limited edition sparkly package.  It's definitely a conservation starter when you pull it out of your party clutch.

One of my most frequent places is a CHANEL counter near where I used to live.  I still go to the area once every few weeks and I always stop by the counter.  It takes me a while to pull myself away from it, but this time, I couldn't; I was bad and I left with two things, which saddens my wallet.

The lovely people at Debenhams has asked me if I would like to style and accessorise inspired by British style icons using items sold on Debenhams.com.  For those of you who are not familiar with Debenhams, it is a UK based retailer that carries products from fashion to beauty, home to electronics.  While having over 240 stores in 28 countries, Debenhams is also available online for 70 countries shipping internationally (including North America).  Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I have, of course, chosen to use Emma Watson as my style inspiration for this challenge.

While known for her glamourous red carpet looks, Emma Watson is quite "laid-back/relaxed chic" when it comes to her off-duty style.  She said in her recent interview with Net-A-Poter's The Edit that her personal wardrobe is much more comfortable (than her red carpet attires) for her everyday style.  I absolutely agree with Emma and I, too, usually would go for comfortable clothing when I shop.  In this post, I am going to show you how I get warm-and-cozy-Emma-style for this year's Autumn and Winter using a few pieces found on Debenhams.

It's finally here.  Benefit is partnering exclusively with Sephora and bringing their famous Benefit Brow Bar to Canada.  I was invited along with other media to go to the grand opening of their location in Sephora at Yorkdale Shopping Centre and check out what the Brow Bar is all about.

The Benefit Brow Bar offers a few brow shaping and facial waxing services, each take about 20-30 minutes.  The Canadian Benefit Brow Bar are currently only located inside 3 Sephoras: Dix 30 in Brossard, Sherway Gardens in Toronto, and Yorkdale in Toronto as well.  Each brow bar has two arch experts who are highly trained in waxing and tweezing to give their customers their unique brow shaping experience.

One of the things that I'm not good at is applying eyeliner.  But I have been having less trouble lately, all thanks to the Lancôme Artliner 24H Bold Colour Precision Eyeliner* in Black Diamond.  Celebrating the 20th anniversary of original Artliner, Lancôme released an updated version Artliner 24H in 10 rich, vibrant shades.  It comes with a felt tip applicator to allow you to line your eye precisely but effortlessly.  It is also said to last a whole day.

Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control (CA $50) is like their original, or rather the oil-free, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer but also treats breakouts.  It contains 2% salicylic acid to combat blemishes and it is also oil-free.  It claims to provide clearer skin in just 2 weeks while instantly create a smooth canvas for makeup.  I'm an oily skin gal and recently my face is not happy.  I think I need to look into this.

Revlon by Marchesa Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliqués in Gilded Mosaic
Jewelry from Bauble Bar & J.Crew Factory
A little while ago, I blogged about the nail art collaboration between Revlon and Marchesa.  Now I got quick sneak peek of the Revlon by Marchesa Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliqués (US $9.99 / CA $8.95).  I can't tell you how excited I am to try them out, but I'm going to hold it off until I get my macro lens so it will do the detail on these appliqués justice.  Meanwhile, let's take a first look at 6 out of the 8 Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliqués, along with some jewelry pairings that I put together.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep... How cute is the packaging?
"Gimme gimme more, gimme more, gimme gimme more" - Gimme More by Britney Spears.

This is what I would sing when I'm growing my brows out.  I was born with unruly and sparse brows.  I have embraced that and just been filling it in everyday and hope for the best.  But it has become a chore that I don't really enjoy doing.  One thing that annoys me the most is that I don't always get them right, until the Benefit Gimme Brow* (US $22.00 / CA $26.00) came along.

It's not a secret that I'm scared of wearing red lip colour.  Yes, it might be a little too dramatic but I was never comfortable in red lip colour.  I can do bright pinks, just not red (let's not get me started with darker vampy shades, I'm still learning).  I tried to convince myself to get used to it but I just couldn't, until RiRi Woo.

The sold-out RiRi Woo lip trios from MAC Cosmetics' most recent collection, RiRi Hearts MAC.  The colour is a true red with a blue undertone.  The cooler share is quite suitable for my yellow complexion.  The Lipstick, Pro Longwear Lip Pencil and Lipglass share the same colour and compliment each other very well.
