Dior Vernis Nail Lacquer Pretty Pastels Are the Closest Thing to Spring Right Now | Review, Photos & SwatchesDear Polar Vortex, why are you still here? Just this past weekend it was all white outside. I need some other colour in my life.
The Dior Trianon Collection for Spring features the Dior Vernis Nail Lacquer (CA $26 / US $24) in 3 new colours—Bouquet, Porcelaine, and Bloom—and a Shimmering Matte Effect Top Coat in Perlé. The formula of these Nail Vernis are always smooth and creamy. But for lighter colours, like Bouquet and Porcelaine in this collection needs 3 coats for a full coverage. Of course if you don't mind it be slightly translucent, then 2 would do a fine job.
As for the new Shimmering Matte Effect Top Coat, it is also smooth and easy to apply. The coverage is up to you. I find that applying 1 coat on top on another nail colour gives a subtle matte sheen effect, while applying 2 coats will lighten the original colour more and the pearl particles stand out more. But if you want to wear it alone, I like the effect of 2 coats. It gives an interesting matte effect that also glimmer at the same time because of the iridescent pink and pearly particles in it.
For either formula, I especially like the brush that it comes with. It is wide enough to cover the entire pinky in one stroke, and it has a rounded tip to help you get a "rounder" application towards the end of the nails.
Porclaine is a light baby blue colour with a cream finish. It's a true baby blue in my view, quite similar to Sally Hansen Baraccuda but lighter.
Bouquet is a peachy coral pink with a cream finish. It reminds me a few colours in my collection (e.g. L'Oréal Paris Orange You Jealous, Essie Tart Deco, MAC Coconut Ice), but they are actually all different.
Finally Perlé is a matte top coat with shimmering effects because of the iridescent pearl particles in it. When worn on its own, it appears to be pink and purle-ish. And when worn with others, the pink and purple shade is a bit more muted with 1 coat, and more prominent with 2 coats.

All these colours are very on spot with Spring pastels. I really can't say no to a great coral pink nail colours (there's a reason I own some similar shades lol). If you were to try any of the above out, I would recommend Perlé. It is such an interesting top coat to add something different to an ordinary nail art. Even though the pearl shimmer seems a bit pink, I think it will go well with many other colours.
Until next time,
