Luminato Festival 2014 | Vichy Skin Health Centre & L'Oréal Paris Sublime Sun Beach House

June 13, 2014

I love this time of the year.  The Sun is out.  There is a nice breeze and it's not too hot.  It's also time for a eventful season with Toronto.  One of the biggest is the Luminato Festival that happens every year around downtown Toronto feature art, music, film, theatre, etc.  As the Partner of Creativity of Luminato, every year L'Oréal Canada will have different activation around town for event goers.

This year, Vichy has brought back their Skin Health Centre and it is located at the centre court of the Eaton Centre (bottom floor).  Skin care consultants are available on sites to perform skin diagnostics for those who drop by.  I went there earlier this week to get my skin checked out.

The Vichy skincare consultant performed 3 tests on me.  First, we tried to find out what type of skin I have.  It doesn't come as a surprise to me that I have oily skin.  What is surprising though is that I also have fairly dehydrated skin, as told by the moisture checker my moisture level was only 31.8% (while 40% or above is the ideal level).  To show how the skin is reacting to sun damage and environmental damage, as well as the lack of hydration, we took a look at a "beauty microscope".  Skin cells are of irregular shape, hyper-pigmentation was showing through.  They will also check to see if you are protected from the UV rays using the UV camera.  I didn't do too bad this time around.  It's time to put a stop to this and so the Vichy skincare consultant has recommended a range of skincare products for me to try out.

The Vichy skincare consultant was extremely helpful.  I have learned a lot about my skin and what I should do to protect my skin.  If you have any skin concerns, or if you just want to learn more about your skin, visit the Vichy Skin Health Centre at the Eaton Centre until this Sunday (June 15, 2014).  This year they have improved the experience by sending the diagnostic right to your email so you will able to review the information at home.  If you do decide to try out some skincare products, they also have a great promo of $5 off at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Eaton Centre as well as a gift with purchase offer when you buy 3 or more Vichy products.

Speaking of sun protection, L'Oréal Paris built a Lift Guard Tower right in the middle of the Luminato Beach! (located at David Pecaut Square)  To celebrate Summer and promote sun care awareness, L'Oréal Paris is giving away a full size sunscreen of your choice—you can choose from L'Oréal Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer Lotion (SPF 15, 30, 60) or L'Oréal Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer SPF 50 Face Lotion (regular or BB)—with a donation to the Skin Cancer Foundation.

If you're in town, around the area, or going to the festival, definitely go check out the L'Oréal Paris Life Guard Tower.  It's for a great cause and you'll also get to try out their new line of Sublime Sun Care (the 13 product range have a variety of texture and form, there's one for everyone).  It will be open again from 11AM to 2PM today (June 13, 2014), but a little bird told me they maybe extending it to the weekend (will confirm).

There's so much to do in Toronto in Summer.  Are you planning attend anything?

Until next time,

x Rica
