Summer is half way through!  Enjoying the sun or not, thanks to the invention of bronzer, ladies from the Great White North, too, can get instant sun kiss glow.  There are so many beautiful bronzers available this Summer (literally, the designs are out of this world).  I have round up a few that you need to go to the makeup counter now to stare at, adore and swatch!

One of my most frequent places is a CHANEL counter near where I used to live.  I still go to the area once every few weeks and I always stop by the counter.  It takes me a while to pull myself away from it, but this time, I couldn't; I was bad and I left with two things, which saddens my wallet.

I may have skipped a couple months of favourites because the past Summer has been incredibly busy for me, so I've been keeping my makeup to the minimal.  So it makes more sense to accumulate a few months of favourites into one, even though it would make this post incredibly long... So let's jump right in.

Complexion

L to R, T to B: Dior Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, BECCA Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
BECCA Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
It's a perfect primer for you all oily skin gal out there.  You can use this before or after makeup because it acts like a liquid blotting paper.  I like that it keeps my face matte for hours.  My face is definitely less oily throughout the day.  I do, however, need to touch up if I'm going to have an extra long day.  I would rub some between my fingers and pat onto the face, easy piecey.

Dior Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation
This stuff is actually great.  I was surprised because I always thought it was a gimmick, but it gives a beautiful satin finish and pretty good coverage.  If you're in a hurry, you could spray this on and blend it out with a brush then you're good to go (for the face anyway).  I like to spray on my face once and spray some on the back of my hand and use a brush to add extra coverage if I need to.

How did we get to Mother's Day already?  I never know what to get my mom because for the past few big holidays, whatever I got her she made me go return it.  She just doesn't like me spending money on her, especially when it's not something she picked out herself.  This year, instead of the usual dinner that we have, I'm going to try something different - DIY at-home pamper... and then dinner lol.  Here are the steps I'm taking...

Step 1 — Facials

From L to R: Eucerin DermatoCLEAN Mild Cleansing Lotion
and Bioderma Sensibio Solution Micellaire
Let's start with cleansing by using the Eucerin DermatoCLEAN Mild Cleansing Lotion* and just to be safe, we'll use the Bioderma Sensibio Solution Micellaire to cleanse once more..

From L to R: Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Spa Mask,
Beauty Diary Peruvian Sunflower Mask,
and REN Skincare Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask
There are 3 masks that I'm using for deep cleansing, moisturizing, and radiance enhancing.  These include the new Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Spa Mask*, Beauty Diary Peruvian Sunflower Mask, and REN Skincare Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask.  I'm hoping after all 3 masks my mom is going to look glowing!

Spring/March-to-April 2013 Favourites!
It has been so long since I have done a post on my favourite products at the moment, so since I did discover some goodies in the past few months, I thought I'd share what they are!

First up, face makeup.  Since the weather has been nicer lately, I've been reaching for my dear friend — Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup in B20.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup in B20
I think I've mentioned it a couple times in the past, and it's safe to say that it's probably one of my all time favourite because it's the only bottle of foundation that I am finishing up.  It gives a skin-looking finish while providing good medium coverage (for me anyway) with a subtle satin finish.  It is moisturizing yet light-weight, and it does a quite decent job staying put on my oily skin.

Since Summer is coming up, I have been changing it up with my blushers.  I was obsessed with Benefit Box O' Powder in Hervana for the entire winter, but recently, I have using her older sister, Bella Bamba, pretty much exclusively.

Benefit Bella Bamba Box O' Powder
It is a watermelon colour with fine gold glitter.  The shimmer is very subtle and it gives your cheeks a very nice healthy glow.  It is also very pigmented, so I usually take a stippling brush like MAC 187 to apply it or I will use a blush brush like MAC 168 to lightly dab into the powder and pounce it on my cheeks.

As mentioned in my past Travel Chic post, my trip to Asia has begun.  I spent my first three nights in Hong Kong, catching up with some friends and family during all those day.  Last Monday (or some say the one before... I get confused with these things), I flew to Taipei with my family because according to my brother I should "make the most out of my first transpacific trip in years".  I guess he's right.

Taipei is very different than what I have imagined.  I imagined it to be newer, but instead a lot of places are full of older building.  It's very different from Hong Kong.  But there are something the two cities have in common - the number of beauty counters.  Every mall or department store I have visited, the first thing you'll see after the entrance will be beauty counters.  I believe my fellow Canadian beauty enthusiasts will drool when they see these stores in person.  They have about 3-5 times more brands than we have in Canada.  They also have a lot of freestanding beauty stores... from drugstore to high-end, from American to Korean.  You can find almost every brand you can name here in Taipei!  And here are just some pictures that I took from a Taipei landmark - Taipei 101, plus a few shots in Ximending =)
