Have you have one of those days where you feel "bleh"?  Like you want to stay home in your PJs with your hair undone and watch TV.  Ya, that was me for the past two weekends.

The Summertime Sadness has hit me hard... So hard, that I can barely function.  I told myself "get your arse up, go outside, and have brunch with your man".

With me already feeling "bleh", the least I could do is not show it.  I put some light makeup on (Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide,  Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in DimLancôme Grandiôse Mascara & Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil in Matte Black).  And I finished off with the Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupté 106 Cuir Grenat (CA $35 / US $32) right before I step out the door.
It brightens everything up.

That raspberry red tint is so much more flattering that it looks in the tube.  I could build it up to make it a vampy night out shade, or, my favourite way, I could just apply a layer or two for that just bitten lip colour with a juicy glossy finish.

The staying power was quite impressive.  I mean I went for brunch, even after the glossy topping is gone, I still got a nice tint (not a stain).  But I would reapply just for that sweet scent of it.  It smells like those Asian mango candies you get at Chinese restaurant when you get the bill.

I also really like the 210 Beige Nu shade from the same Cuirs Fétiches Fall collection.  It is a great neutral nude lip colour for light-medium to medium-deep skin tone because it's a mauve beige.  These two shades a bit more creamier than the existing range of Gloss Volupté, which are great addition to the current line up.

So I'm going to give these glosses a A- (it really depends how much you're willing to spend for a luxury lipgloss)

I just decided to add a bit of boho spin to my Fall style, which was inspired by my post-brunch-shopping at Club Monaco... I love that shop... So these glosses comes at a good timing because it'll work well with my rustic mixed with navy and burgundy purchases (this reminds me, I totally need some new shoes to go with them).

Until next time,

x Rica

Lancôme Lip Lover - From L to R: Rose Ballet, Rose Attrape-Coeur, Lip Lover, Corail Cabriole
I have been wanting to talk about the Lancôme Lip Lover (CA $27~29 / US $23) for a bit over a month now.  The reason I didn't get around to it is because I keep buying more and waiting for them to shipped to me.  I realized it's time to just make a post about it now that I accumulated 4 shades because the wish list is just never ending.

Many of my friends would have a tube or two Dior Addict Lip Gloss in their bag.  They are undoubtedly beautiful to look at, but are they as great as many have said?

I don't have a bucket list to go skydiving, hike the Peru Machu Picchu trail, or simply wear the boldest makeup to work.  Sorry for being so dull but doing things out of the ordinary is just not my style.  Thankfully, the new L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire Lip Colors (CA $12.99 / US $9.99) are well within my comfort zone.

Do you dare to wear blue?  I do.  In fact one of my favourite ways to wear blue eyeshadow is a blue smoky eyes.  So when Revlon asked if I would like to take on their "Dare to Wear Blue" challenge, I immediately know I want to get some inspiration from my go-to blue eyeshadow look!

It's not a secret that I'm scared of wearing red lip colour.  Yes, it might be a little too dramatic but I was never comfortable in red lip colour.  I can do bright pinks, just not red (let's not get me started with darker vampy shades, I'm still learning).  I tried to convince myself to get used to it but I just couldn't, until RiRi Woo.

The sold-out RiRi Woo lip trios from MAC Cosmetics' most recent collection, RiRi Hearts MAC.  The colour is a true red with a blue undertone.  The cooler share is quite suitable for my yellow complexion.  The Lipstick, Pro Longwear Lip Pencil and Lipglass share the same colour and compliment each other very well.

RiRi Hearts MAC is definitely the most anticipated MAC collection in 2013.  Today (September 26, 2013) is the MAC store release date, and I had a whole biking adventure to my closest store just so I can get my wish list items.  But in fact, I have not been very interested in MAC limited edition items until this collection.  Sure, I always like MAC products, they are great quality but I am usually more drawn to the permanent items.  Having said that, this collection really features a lot of good quality products and I just couldn't say no to the pink and rose gold packaging.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who does not like wearing lipgloss.  She doesn't like the stickiness or the heaviness of lipgloss.  But every now and then, some lip glosses would surprise her with their smoothness, and this time, there were three of them called Shu Uemura Gloss Unlimited (CA $30 / US $25)*

Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm
I have never been a gloss girl, in fact, I ALWAYS pick lipsticks over lipgloss.  But I didn't mind the new Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm* (CA $8.95).  Coming in 10 gorgeous shades, this moisturizing lip care formula is hitting the drugstore in Canada in July 2013 (it's already available in the U.S.).

L'Oreal Caress Shine Stains, from L to R: Eternally Nude, Pink Rebellion,
Pink Resistance, Infinite Fuchsia, Lilac Ever After
Earlier this year, L'Oreal Paris has a launched a new line of glossy lip stains — L'Oreal Paris Caress Shine Stain (CA $12.99 / US $9.99), that is said to be a dupe for the luxurious YSL Glossy Stains I first got a sneak peek of this product at the L'Oreal Paris Holiday Party last year, and I immediately wanted all of them.  Dupability aside, let's talk about the product on its own.
