Have you have one of those days where you feel "bleh"?  Like you want to stay home in your PJs with your hair undone and watch TV.  Ya, that was me for the past two weekends.

The Summertime Sadness has hit me hard... So hard, that I can barely function.  I told myself "get your arse up, go outside, and have brunch with your man".

With me already feeling "bleh", the least I could do is not show it.  I put some light makeup on (Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide,  Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in DimLancôme Grandiôse Mascara & Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil in Matte Black).  And I finished off with the Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupté 106 Cuir Grenat (CA $35 / US $32) right before I step out the door.
It brightens everything up.

That raspberry red tint is so much more flattering that it looks in the tube.  I could build it up to make it a vampy night out shade, or, my favourite way, I could just apply a layer or two for that just bitten lip colour with a juicy glossy finish.

The staying power was quite impressive.  I mean I went for brunch, even after the glossy topping is gone, I still got a nice tint (not a stain).  But I would reapply just for that sweet scent of it.  It smells like those Asian mango candies you get at Chinese restaurant when you get the bill.

I also really like the 210 Beige Nu shade from the same Cuirs Fétiches Fall collection.  It is a great neutral nude lip colour for light-medium to medium-deep skin tone because it's a mauve beige.  These two shades a bit more creamier than the existing range of Gloss Volupté, which are great addition to the current line up.

So I'm going to give these glosses a A- (it really depends how much you're willing to spend for a luxury lipgloss)

I just decided to add a bit of boho spin to my Fall style, which was inspired by my post-brunch-shopping at Club Monaco... I love that shop... So these glosses comes at a good timing because it'll work well with my rustic mixed with navy and burgundy purchases (this reminds me, I totally need some new shoes to go with them).

Until next time,

x Rica

Inspired by leather—the ultra classic material in fashion, Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director Make-up YSL Beauté of Yves Saint Laurent, created the Cuirs Fétiches Collection for Fall 2014.  This collection features a variety of texture and finishes, from grained to burnished, from matte to glossy, to represent possibilities of leather.  It is apparent that leather is the theme of the collection, as shown on the packaging of the Fétiche Palette.

YSL-Youth-Liberator-Serum-Foundation-01

Have you ever given second chance to a beauty product and completely changed your mind about it?  I would say half the times it work out that way and this is one of those times.

I originally tried out the YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation (CA $72 / US $69) back in the Summer and didn't really like it.  Knowing that there are so many rave reviews out there, I feel like it deserves a second chance.  So fast forward a few months, I began to use it in the Winter.  Long story short, I'm glad that I gave it another shot.
