sephora-hold-it-together-blow-dry-clips

I like to wear my hair down (99% of the time), but that's when I'm outside.  It's a complete different story at home, that's when I like to get my hair away from my face.  I'd tie it up or clip it but I usually end up with crimp marks, which is not cute if I need to go out later in the day.  One day I couldn't find my usual hair clip and decided to test out these Sephora Collection Hold It Together Blow Dry Clips (CA $12 / US $10).  I'm so glad I did

I may have skipped a couple months of favourites because the past Summer has been incredibly busy for me, so I've been keeping my makeup to the minimal.  So it makes more sense to accumulate a few months of favourites into one, even though it would make this post incredibly long... So let's jump right in.

Complexion

L to R, T to B: Dior Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, BECCA Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
BECCA Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
It's a perfect primer for you all oily skin gal out there.  You can use this before or after makeup because it acts like a liquid blotting paper.  I like that it keeps my face matte for hours.  My face is definitely less oily throughout the day.  I do, however, need to touch up if I'm going to have an extra long day.  I would rub some between my fingers and pat onto the face, easy piecey.

Dior Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation
This stuff is actually great.  I was surprised because I always thought it was a gimmick, but it gives a beautiful satin finish and pretty good coverage.  If you're in a hurry, you could spray this on and blend it out with a brush then you're good to go (for the face anyway).  I like to spray on my face once and spray some on the back of my hand and use a brush to add extra coverage if I need to.

It's the time of the month again!  May seemed long but flew by so quickly, and very eventful.  This month, the weather here in Canada is kind of weird lately, we had nice day, cold days, hail, rain, thunderstorm... But that didn't stop me from trying different products.

Spring/March-to-April 2013 Favourites!
It has been so long since I have done a post on my favourite products at the moment, so since I did discover some goodies in the past few months, I thought I'd share what they are!

First up, face makeup.  Since the weather has been nicer lately, I've been reaching for my dear friend — Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup in B20.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup in B20
I think I've mentioned it a couple times in the past, and it's safe to say that it's probably one of my all time favourite because it's the only bottle of foundation that I am finishing up.  It gives a skin-looking finish while providing good medium coverage (for me anyway) with a subtle satin finish.  It is moisturizing yet light-weight, and it does a quite decent job staying put on my oily skin.

Since Summer is coming up, I have been changing it up with my blushers.  I was obsessed with Benefit Box O' Powder in Hervana for the entire winter, but recently, I have using her older sister, Bella Bamba, pretty much exclusively.

Benefit Bella Bamba Box O' Powder
It is a watermelon colour with fine gold glitter.  The shimmer is very subtle and it gives your cheeks a very nice healthy glow.  It is also very pigmented, so I usually take a stippling brush like MAC 187 to apply it or I will use a blush brush like MAC 168 to lightly dab into the powder and pounce it on my cheeks.

My Spring/March-to-April 2013 Favourites!

The month of love has come to an end.  I'm so glad it's ending because that means my boyfriend is coming back to town =D.  But February was a good month.  It was also my birthday month and I have had the best time for my birthday this year.  I went on an awesome road trip with my girls Joyce, Emily, and Michele (I love these girls <3).  So I guess, these girls are my human favourites of the month lol.

Anyhow, let's jump to the beauty products that I loved this month!

MAC Naked Honey Skin Salve

Originally released in 2009 with the MAC Naked Honey collection, this jelly like product is a multi-functional “cream” that you can use anywhere on your body.  I have heard a lot of good things about this, so I bought it during last MAC warehouse sale, or the one before.  I didn’t start using it since this month because I didn’t know how I should use it.  This year, nothing really works for my chapped lips, except for this.  It’s my lips saviour.  I love it.  I need it.  This is something I totally need a backup for.  I hope MAC will re-release the Naked Honey line soon.  Their hand/body cream was excellent as well ><.

Stuff I loved in February 2012

I have been really into lashes lately.  Almost every week, I'll use them one day.  (I can't really wear it to work 'cause I don't have that much time lol.)  Before, I have only liked MAC and Koji Dolly Wink Lashes before.  Since my last Pinky Paradise purchase, I have been enjoying lashes even more.  Here are a few that I have been loving...

Eyemazing Sweet Ribbon Series No. 303
Eyemazing Sweet Ribbon Series No. 303
This is my absolute favourite.  They are half lashes so they're super easy to apply and surprising comfortable!  I just love them.  I got mine from PinkyParadise.com but I have seen it on eBay as well =).

January seemed really fast and slow to me.  It's fast because it's already the 31st!  It's slow because I can't wait to go to my road trip next week!  And I can't wait for yearend and winter to be over!

Well, it's the end of the month, so this means it's going to be end of month favourites!  It's the first favourites post on this blog, so I'm kind of excited =).  Anyway, let's get to it!

Benefit The POREfessional

Benefit The POREfessional

I got this miniature version as a 100-point perk from Sephora.  It has a silky finish like some other silicone primers, but unlike those primers, this doesn't give a heavy finish.  I usually use it around the nose and on the forehead.  I think it gives a smooth base for makeup and it does cover up the pores around my cheeks pretty well.  If you want to try it out, I still see it as a 100-point perk in some Sephoras, so you might want to check it out =).

I have already shared what beauty products I have loved in the year 2011 (click here to view said post).  I thought I would also share with you a few of my favourite fashion pieces I acquired this year.  I think I am kind of on a roll with fashion posts =)... I'm already planning for another one LOL.

Talula Casual Blazer

Everyone needs a good blazer.  I really like this one because it doesn't have the padding on the shoulder.  I have pretty wide shoulders, that might not always be desirable.  Without the padding this become more fitting and more flattering for my body.

Best Fashion Finds of 2011

I hope you all had a safe and happy holidays.  I decided to compose a list of my favourite beauty products of 2011, you know, to look back and then move forward =).  Without further ado, here's my list of the "Best of 2011".

**********

BEST FACE MAKEUP

High-end Foundation: CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup
This is one of the best find in 2011.  It serves me quite well during the Spring and Summer time.  It's quick and easy to use.  It's quite lightweight, while offering just enough coverage I need for everyday life.

Drugstore Foundation: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20
When I first used it I like it but it melted off my face fairly quickly throughout the day.  But I decided to try it again during the winter season and I love it.  It's still not the most long wearing foundation, but it gives a lovely dewy finish I need in such dry weather.

BB Cream: Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB Cream
This serves me well in the drier season, i.e. Winter time.  I find it works quite well controlling shine, it doesn't add extra shine, at the very least.  I also like how it matches my skin tone quite perfectly.  Most BB Creams give you a grey cast, but not this one, it suits girls with yellow undertone.  For reference, I am somewhere in between NC 20 to NC 25 in the Winter.
