Yves Saint Laurent is known for their magic highlighting pen Touche Éclat.  I know many of us are big fan of it, and this year, they are bringing the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Collector Edition* (US $45) to the table for a limited time.

First of all the gold packaging with embossment is to die for.  It was "inspired by the crystal bead-covered Haute Couture 'Edition Soir' evening gown designed by Mr. Yves Saint Laurent himself in the 1960s".  I has pretty good way and feel sophisticated on hand.

Touche Éclat Collector Edition No. 1 Swatches

It comes with a click pen with brush tip applicator like the regular version.  You can apply straight from the tube, or place the product on the back of your hand and apply it with a brush.  Many people use it for concealing and highlighting, I like to use them for both.

I have used the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat in No. 2 for years, which is pale ivory with yellow undertone.  However, I find that No. 1 is a better match for me if I want to use it to hide my dark circles because it has a pinker tone, whereas No. 2 is best for highlighting.  So definitely test out a few shades in store if you are planning to get it because it seems like I have gotten the wrong shade multiple times.

Swatches, Top: Regular Touche Éclat No. 2Bottom: Touche Éclat Collector Edition No. 1
Blended, Top: Regular Touche Éclat No. 2Bottom: Touche Éclat Collector Edition No. 1
Top: Touche Éclat Collector Edition No. 1
Bottom: Regular Touche Éclat No. 2
If you're already a big fan of the YSL Touche Éclat, this Collector Edition is definitely for you.  It is another great design they have come up with since 2010.  What I would do is to keep the cap and just use it as a new cap every time I get a new tube.  No. 1 is great for counteracting darkness under your eyes, where No. 2 is perfect as a highlighter.  However there are only 2 shades, so ladies who have darker skin might be out of luck.

Until next time,

x Rica

When everyone has the same skirt, what do you do to add your personal twist to it?  This conversation came up a little while ago soon after the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection was launched.  Maria from Beauty and a Bite (@MariaAguilar), whom I had the pleasure to meet, saw that I was wearing the Animal Print Skirt and told me that she had the same skirt.  We bonded over our same camera and same skirt, and we start chatting how everyone in the fashion world is styling similarly, especially when it's paired with the pieces from the same collection.  So we thought to take the challenge and showcase how we would wear it and make it our own.

Laura Mercier maybe best known for their tinter moisturizers, but their eyeshadows may just as well be coveted.  After a very successful launch of their limited edition Artist's Palette for Eyes last year, they decided to keep the good things going by releasing version 2.

The Laura Mercier Artist's Palette for Eyes 2* (CA $60 / US $48) comes in a soft faux crocodile skin packaging.  The cover is a dark purple which matches to tone of the palette.  It has a "cushiony" top, which acts as a barrier to protect the large mirror and the eyeshadows within.

L'Oréal Paris, being the world's leading at-home haircolour brand, has spent the past 10 years to develop a product to enhance the at-home haircolouring experience.  From manual to automatic, L'Oréal Paris's newest Préférence Mousse Absolue has revolutionized how consumers will colour their hair.  And for the first time ever, you can save whatever that is leftover for the next application.

The packaging of L'Oréal Paris is truly a game changer.  With 26 perfectly calibrated components, 4 high-pressure extraction bar, 2 micro-valves, and a high definition diffuser, the not-so-simple bottle dispense a mousse that is mixture of colour and developer.  By just a snap, shakes and a push, you can apply the mousse from the bottle directly to your hair.  Spreading the meringue-like mousse evenly over your entire head, you will be able to your new hair colour in just 3 steps (apply, wait, and wash).

Going to the International Makeup Artist Trade Show (IMATS) in Toronto has become a tradition for me.  For those you don't know what IMATS is, it is a trade show for makeup artist and industry but it's open to public.  Vendors at show will showcase their services and products, usually be at a discount.  IMATS also have seminars where makeup pros provide education and demonstrations to show goers.

It is indeed a makeup enthusiasts heaven where you can get industry discount and also learn more about the makeup industry.  For my first IMATS, I was completely overwhelmed and got "I-have-to-get-everything" mentality.  This year, I browse around, learning about new products brands have to offer and look at the makeup work of artists of different booths.  Their work of art is truly amazing and I admire their creativity.

One major mission that I always have is to shop for what I want/need.  This year is no different.  I met up with Jessica, Stacey and Steph again to get our shopping done.  Here's what I got...

With all the Holiday events and parties coming up, I would love to keep my skin clear and healthy to look the best in my party looks.  GlamGlow masks have been taking over the Hollywood with many celebrities endorsing the product.  From Paris Hilton to Miley Cyrus, all of them are raving about the masks.  If you're like me, was weary about it because of the price tag, then the GlamGlow Gift Sexy (US $69 / CA $75) might just persuade you to jump the gun.

I'm definitely a seasonal red lips girl.  The Holidays just bring out that in me and I would go for a red lip tint, lip balm, and of course, red lipstick.  And the limited edition Marc Jacobs Beauty Lovemarc Lip Gel in The Showstopper (US $30 / CA $36) will be going inside my holiday makeup bag!

What do you look for in a mascara?  For most of us, it would be volume and length.  One factor that we all subconsciously consider is the shape that the mascara provide.  That is why there are so many different kinds of false lashes out there with different shapes.  If you happened to be a fan of flared-out false lashes, you may want to check out the new L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara* (CA $11.99) to flare out your own lashes.
